Is Your Skin Getting the Winter Blues?

Wednesday, January 04, 2017

Hey everyone-

If you are like us in the mid-west, you know the game of surviving some harsh winters. These weather conditions can do so much damage to your skin. I have lived in Michigan my entire life and have learned the hard way to not let my winter skin routine take a backseat.

We have teamed up, again, with SkinCeuticals to bring you some amazing products and tips to get your skin winter-ized and to keep it healthy during these brutal months. I recently visited Tribute Salon & Spa in Brighton Michigan this past week. Let's take a quick moment of silence to appreciate how BEAUTIFUL this place is. Holy crap! My esthetician was Jamie Evans. She was not only knowledgeable about the SkinCeuticals line, but this customized facial really targeted what I needed. They don't just do the same old routine, they inspect your skin up close and truly evaluate your treatment needs. How awesome is that?

Take a peek below on what items they recommended from SkinCeuticals for this harsh winter and my experience at Tribute. Everything is linked below for your reference as well.

More to Come,
Danielle

Your Must-Have Items:

Hydra Balm
- Holy crap. This stuff is a MUST for all you Michiganders. This is perfect to throw in your bag to help cracked ankles, hands and any dry patches you find during these harsh months. It’s formulated with pharmaceutical grade petrolatum so it is even better for sensitive skin than lower quality products like Aquafor.

Hydrating B5 Masque - I love a good face mask. Especially one that puts all that moisture back in your skin. This mask does NOT leave your skin oily what so ever and can be used on all skin types. It is concentrated to infuse dehydrated skin with vitamin B5 (Panthenol) and hyaluronic acid and restore moisture levels in the skin. Best to use before any event!

Hydrating B5 Gel- This gel is like a nice a drink of water for your skin!  It replenishes the skin with hyaluronic acid to smooth, hydrate, and plump the skin. Hyaluronic acid can hold 1000x its weight in water. As we know, the cold temperatures and dry environments can suck the life and hydration right from our face. Placing this under your moisturizer will give your skin life. I have been using this the past few weeks and I am obsessed. My makeup goes on more smooth and my skill doesn't have that "dull" look by the end of the day.

Resveratrol BE- Last but certainly not least is this nightly treatment. This gel like formula helps the skin self-repair damage accumulated throughout the day. This also improves radiance, elasticity, and density. Resveratrol is known as the “longevity molecule” and is the antioxidant found in red wine...did someone say wine?

Helpful Tips from the Pro:

1. Suncreen Sunscreen Sunscreen! It doesn't matter if it's the winter or summer, our skin will always need the protection! Having the "SPF" in your foundation isn't enough.
2. Exfoliate and invest in a high quality product. This helps brighten the skin, soften texture, and allows your skincare products to penetrate deeper.
3. Do NOT forget to wash your makeup brushes and pillow cases on "the reg". I always forget that we use our brushes every single day. The dirt and grime build up is not good for our skin.
