Hi everyone!

This is something I am very excited to share. As anyone who knows me can tell you, I am a sucker for a great skin care routine. Products that will help my skin feel and look healthy are winners in my book. Now being 25, my skin needs have shifted to acquiring a full morning and night routine. 


I was very curious about the opening of the Grand Pearl Spa at the Plastic Surgery Associates of GrandRapids.  Having this office be a SkinCeuticals Spa not only implies amazing products but also awesome services. The Triple Lipid Restorative Protocol caught my eye. Investing the time to learn more about the facial, it sounded perfect. Hydrating, anti-aging, and brightening – all the things I want my skin to be. I hadn't had a facial in quite a long time, so I felt like this was perfect timing.


My esthetician at the Grand Pearl was Rachel. Her warming attitude made me feel super comfortable discussing my skin problems and concerns. We started cleansing my face, applying an acid peel and face mask. Next it was time for the SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2. This is formulated with a blend of concentrated lipids: 2% pure ceramides, 4% natural cholesterol and 2% fatty acids. It felt so nourishing on my skin! I left feeling refreshed and even more confident with my bare face. I am very eager to continue this routine and watch my skin improve!

 Later that evening, Katie and I attended their opening event. It was nothing less than spectacular. Who doesn't love an evening sipping champagne, mingling and learning more about some amazing skin products? Having this be right up my alley, it was great to meet more of the SkinCeuticals team and learn about the company. 

Probably the best Thursday I have had in a while ;)

-2 Citrus fruit (I used lemons, but oranges or limes would work as well)

-Ink pad 

      Helpful hints: Do not use paint. Paint won't show the details of the citrus fruit and create globs. Also, choose a ink color that will show up on your canvas.  The brighter the better! 

-Newspaper or scrap paper to lay down

-Paper Towels

August 10th through the 21st, you can experience an assortment of farm-to-table creations around the city of Grand Rapids and Kent County. The 11 day event started in 2010 and has been a local favorite ever since. It is presented by Experience Grand Rapids and other local sponsors with $1 of every meal sold donated to the Secchia Institute of Culinary Education Student Scholarship Fund at Grand Rapids Community College.

It’s patio season in Grand Rapids! So I decided to rank the top 5 “hidden gem” patios around the city. Rather than state the obvious choice decks like Founders and Rockwells, which don’t get me wrong, they're some of my favorites, I thought I would dig a little deeper to find some of the best outdoor dining experiences in GR. 

1. Blue Water Grill

Blue Water Grill is filled with endless flowers and some of the best water views in GR. They are known for their healthy lakeside dining serving only the freshest food from their local gardens.

2. Graydon’s Crossing

An old-world gastropub serving up dishes with American, Indian, and British influence, Graydon’s offers not only a wide variety of grub but 46 beers on tap too. They also have one of the best unexpected patios on Plainfield. 

3. The Reserve

This elegant and modern wine destination features not only one but two outdoor seating options. The front-facing patio is definitely more recognizable but the back deck is what makes this place really special!

4. The Holiday Bar

One of GR’s oldest sports bars in the heart of the Westside, The Holiday Bar features on outdoor bar and laid-back patio if you’re looking to kick back and relax!

5. The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck

This fairly new, chic restaurant in The Amway Grand features amazing cocktails and food to die for! But hidden in the back of The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck is a patio with one of the most beautiful views along the Grand River. If you’re looking for fresh local dining along with a view, this is the place to go! P.S.…crab cakes are a must!
