NYC Recap

Happy Tuesday guys!
I just wanted to give a quick recap from my trip to New York City! I manage to make it out there around two times a year and after experiencing almost every season in the city, I have decided Fall is hands down my favorite time of year to visit The Big Apple! Central Park is so beautiful with all the colors changing and its perfect walking weather. I went for a quick 3-day trip but managed to fit in some amazing restaurants, bars, and the cutest neighborhoods! I've linked and listed all the websites and locations if you're interested in visiting!

First stop was The Bao for my favorite soup dumplings in the city! This Shanghai-style restaurant has top-notch Chinese favorites but the xiao long bao (or soup dumplings) are a must for anyone visiting!

My friend and I stumbled upon Flame while walking around the Upper West Side in search for sushi to tie us over before dinner. This place has an awesome brunch special that includes 2 rolls, miso soup, green salad, AND a cocktail for $15! Other brunch specials include dim sum, main dishes, and hibachi courses.

Hop over to Brooklyn  and get some of the best Spanish and Latin dishes you can find over the bridge. This margarita bar does not disappoint! We tried the Wild Mushroom + Truffle Croquetas for a starter along with guac…DUH! Then loaded up with an assortment of Grilled Mahi Mahi Tacos and Chicken Quesadillas!

This quaint and rustic Italian food and wine bar was my favorite stop of the trip. The ambiance was beyond cozy with Christmas lights and smells of garlic, olive oil, and fresh ingredients that fill the room. The entire restaurant feels like you’ve stepped into the Italian countryside. After a couple glasses of wine, we tried the Crab Cake with Avocado Mouse for an appetizer which did not disappoint! For dinner, I tried Pappardelle ai Funghi (Housemade Pappardelle, Mushrooms, Asparagus, Truffles) and was hands down the best Italian dish I have ever had! My friend ordered the Tagliatelle Bolognese which was also mouthwatering and amazing! I highly recommend putting this restaurant on your “To Do List” when in NYC.

Here are some other quick snap shots of my weekend in The Big Apple!

Thanks,
Katie
