The Ultimate Wine Weekend In Traverse City

Monday, March 06, 2017

Good morning friends-

I can't even begin to explain my lovely weekend up in Northern Michigan. As I have mentioned past posts, Traverse City is one of Michigan's greatest places to visit. From the views, food and (of course) wine, it makes for the perfect weekend.

I feel blessed to have partnered with Traverse City Tourism for this trip. Sam and I made the trek up north for the Romancing the Riesling event with the Wineries of Old Mission Peninsula. Take a peek at our adventure below and all the places we explored!.

Enjoy,
Danielle

Friday:
Post checking into the Bayshore Resort, we decided to hit up downtown Traverse City for some shopping and exploring. I had to make a pit stop at one of my favorite places, The Franklin. This place has the best perogies I have ever tasted in my life and their custom cocktails are to die for! Post "perogie coma" we explored Cherry Republic and M22 for some fun retail therapy. Coincidentally, my godparents and parents were in town, therefore, the night ended with a lovely family dinner at Sorellina.

Saturday:
Today was the day I was most excited about...the Romancing the Riesling event! This event is put on by the Wineries of Old Mission Peninsula. With your ticket, each winery gives you a sample of their best Riesling and special food pairing. Most wineries also gave complimentary tasting for all their other wines as well (talk about a wonderful Saturday!). Here are the places I explored, each one with lovely wine and breathtaking view.

Black Star Farms

Peninsula Cellars

Chateau Grand Traverse

Bower's Harbor Vineayards

Brys Estate Vineyard & Winery

Chateau Chantal

2Lads Winery

Mari Vineyards

After we sipped the afternoon away, we headed over to Firefly for some much needed dinner. This place has a great selection of food and drinks! Located on the river, we had a wonderful winter view as well. We finally ended our night at Low Bar and Rare Bird for some more cocktails and entertainment. Low Bar gives off a very cool vibe. Located underneath 7 Monks Taproom, the atmosphere is dark and very chic. Not to mention my Moscow mule was extremely delicious! Rare Bird was a blast. From their vast beer selection to an amazing live band, this place was packed!

Sunday:
Rise and shine and off to the Omelette Shoppe for some yummy and hearty breakfast. Then, a sad goodbye to the beautiful TC.

*A special thank you for everyone at Traverse City Tourism and The Wineries of Old Mission Peninsula for making this trip amazing. Hope to come back again soon!
